We are thrilled to announce that our organization will be participating as a partner in the newly approved Erasmus+ Partnerships for Cooperation project titled “Financial Literacy for Youth Workers.” This exciting initiative aims to strengthen the capacity of youth workers to empower young people—especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds—with essential financial literacy and personal finance management skills.
Why Financial Literacy Matters
In today’s complex economic landscape, understanding how to manage money wisely is more important than ever. Yet, many young people still lack the knowledge and tools needed to make informed financial decisions. Youth workers, who are often the first point of contact and support for these individuals, play a crucial role in filling this gap.
This project is designed to equip youth workers with the necessary skills, tools, and resources to offer impactful, engaging, and inclusive financial education.
Project Objectives
The main goals of the “Financial Literacy for Youth Workers” project include:
Developing the ability to design effective personal finance training modules
Enhancing knowledge in budget planning and spending control
Teaching strategies for financial risk management and responsible borrowing
Creating accessible financial literacy programs tailored for disadvantaged youth
These objectives will be realized through collaborative work across partner organizations and the sharing of good practices throughout Europe.
Participating Countries
The project brings together partners and participants from five countries:
Estonia
Latvia
Portugal
Romania
Turkiye
This multinational partnership ensures a rich exchange of perspectives, methodologies, and cultural approaches to financial education.
Planned Activities
Throughout the project, several impactful activities will take place, including:
Creation of posters, brochures, and newsletters to raise awareness
Surveys to assess needs and progress
Production of spot films showcasing best practices in financial literacy
Development of training modules for youth workers
Design and dissemination of a user-friendly online platform and mobile financial guide
Organization of financial literacy workshops and national/international dissemination events
A comprehensive financial literacy handbook
7 transnational partner meetings for evaluation and coordination
All these efforts aim to ensure that the tools created are practical, engaging, and adaptable to various cultural and social contexts.
Project Impact
Through this project, the skills and competencies of youth workers will be significantly strengthened, enabling them to guide young people more effectively in financial matters. The project will also contribute to:
Creating long-lasting educational resources
Supporting disadvantaged youth in gaining financial independence
Promoting sustainable financial habits among young people
Encouraging long-term international cooperation in the field of youth work and education
We believe that financial literacy is not just a skill—it’s a foundation for empowerment, inclusion, and resilience.
